On October 15, the ribbon was cut in front of the new building! Pictured holding the ribbon are members of the Terrace & District Christian Council for Social Resources and the City of Terrace Housing Committee. John Vandevelde, the general contractor for the expansion and on the Tuck Project Committee, was honored for the great work he did on the building.
The final product is bright and roomy for a 500 sq. ft. apartment. At the opening celebration, Community Partners were recognized for donations to the project of funds, materials, and labour. There has been $73,210 in donations to date. The project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget. The cost of construction to completion is approximately $300,000 thanks to the generosity of the community of Terrace. Even all the refrigerators and stoves were donated!
